we're extremely proud to present the album '2019' by gerwin eisenhauer. to those who are not aware of his work, let us introduce him to you: gerwin eisenhauer grew up in a small city in the middle of bavaria, and right after he left school he went to new york city to study drums at the respected drummers collective. he became a professional drummer and jazz artist and played with and for an endless list of artists at studio sessions and live all over the world. he has an incredible bandwidth in musical styles, for example: it might be that he's drumming a cover version of an aphex twin track at a regular jazz show. he's a member of the band 'trio elf' who have released 6 albums already and played drums at numerous theatre plays at residenztheater munich and various other theatres in bavaria. in 2012 he received the culture & art prize of the city of regensburg, bavaria - the city where he currently resides and which he loves so much. besides all the concerts and studio recordings, gerwin eisenhauer works as lecturer for drums & rhythm at the musiccollege regensburg and as a guest lecturer at the drummers collective in new york.
the music of the '2019' reflects gerwin eisenhauer's deepest thoughts and reflects his retrospective view on 2019, his year of personal disaster - in many senses. you feel the intensity of light and shadow with his confident music and his visionary drum play. he's on a journey with his companions through toxic violins, nusoul with harmonious female voices, acid jazz blues enriched with dark tricky like vocals and orchestral hip hop. gerwin eisenhauer has the gift to transform his feelings into drums, beats and visions. he is literally an artist and has created an album without boundaries for a brighter future - for himself and for all of us.
