Matt Wolf Beautiful, crisp and subtle melodies, dotted with delicately brittle percussion and wielding field sample wizardry that blends this work of art together seamlessly. Gracefully woven and blended into perfect balance as a wonderfully detailed sonic tapestry that most likely will hold its luster for years to come. A delightfully day-dreamy sound with solid onus on production quality that lends itself to hours and hours of deep repeat listens. Audiophiles will rejoice. Keep it up! Favorite track: scenic route.

about

room of wires are an electronic music duo from the uk who take their isolationist approach to the limit. since forming in 2013, they have never met, they keep their partnership in its purest form. to them, it’s only about the music and the machines. they use synthesizers, computers, field recordings and handcrafted software to create twisted, fragile yet beautiful sounds.

they’ve released several eps and two lps, as well as countless contributions to compilations and film scores. the modern age, with its digital communication, portable workstations, social networks, and online file-sharing, has not altered the legacy of collaborations in music, but merely expanded the means by which they manifest. room of wires, a synergy of ambient electronic experimentation have built an elusive world of dark, yet cohesive, intricately produced music.

plague of people shines with complex mantra-like synths weaved together with mangled beats and almost inaudible field recordings to build an intense soundscape, where analogue synths are equally engulfed in digital. written during, and as an antidote to the covid-19 lockdown, it brings a touch of hope in these dark times.
