from 2009 - 2014, tony d'oporto and mark spybey embarked on a musical journey together that would yield 6 albums of experimental ambient music and soulful truck stop jams. an adventure that would take them from england and los angeles, to texas, toronto, new york city, mexico city and all points in between. this project also featured collaborations with esteemed colleagues such as david thrussell, robert rich, tom shear and michael morton. in 2019 they released a compilation of their recordings on ant-zen and now, they are back.

from seattle to utah to the hills and valleys of northern england, the reconvened duo have been episodically working on a new album throughout the course of this pandemic year, infused by their cycle rides on the opposite side of the world.

the seventh is a largely song based album, somewhat of a departure from their previous work and its kind of beautiful. from the brechtian doom, of "cancel your tomorrow," to the quiet hope of "to be the sun in flight," and all points in between, this just might be the album that you listen to, sharing headphones whilst holding the hand of the only person who really cares about you. what will happen when we are no longer here? what will happen? dust. hope. why do you want to play chess with me?
